The Russell Island Waste Transfer Facility
is located off Centre Road opposite Magnolia Street.
Site operation hours: 8am - 4pm Thursday to Monday, closed Tuesday - Wednesday.
Residents are allowed FREE access to the facility to deposit approved domestic waste.
Commercial and industrial waste
All commercial operators are charged at appropriate commercial rates irrespective of size of vehicle.
Vegetation
Vegetation up to 250mm in diameter - $37.00/cu metre (or part thereof
Minimum charge (less than 0.5 cu. metre) - $20.00
Vegetation over 250mm in diameter - $37.00/cu.metre (or part thereof)
Scrap metal
Car bodies / caravans / metal boats - no charge
Other scrap metal - no charge
No waste other than the above will be accepted from commercial operators.
Prohibited wastes
Solvents, paints, pesticide wastes, commercial waste, all chemicals, asbestos, commercial construction and demolition wastes (limits apply to residents disposing of construction and demolition wastes).
